Our team, comprised of 17 volunteers from across Canada, is participating in a Canadian Baptist Ministries mission outreach in August 2015.
We will be serving as camp leaders and each volunteer will be sponsoring approx. five orphans from the Guardians of Hope program and one Kenyan youth to attend Kamp Tumaini. These children have lost their parents and families because of AIDS and while at camp they will experience love and encouragement in their lives. We want to show them God's love and show them that they are valuable, can accomplish much and give back to others and their community. The two weeks at camp will be a true investment in the children's lives.
What does every child in the world have in common? The need to be loved and to enjoy the freedom of being a kid! Unfortunately for many children, especially for those whose lives have been impacted by HIV/AIDS, this isn’t always the reality. Guardians of Hope (GOH), is a program of Canadian Baptist Ministries which works to improve the lives of those affected or infected by HIV/AIDS around the world – many of whom are orphaned children. GOH in partnership with national churches has been helping to change lives for almost a decade, offering hope and help in desperate circumstances – training in HIV/AIDS issues, reducing stigma and discrimination, improving health and food security and helping to pay school fees.
